CASE REPORT
Schwannomas, also known as neurilemomas, are benign tumors originating from Schwann cells, which are responsible for peripheral nerve myelination. This type of tumor is typically found in intracranial nerves, primarily the Vestibulocochlear nerve; however, it can also occur in the spinal cord, as demonstrated in this report. Spinal Schwannomas are characterized by being extramedullary intradural, and symptoms can vary based on the location and size of these tumors. The objective of this study is to present a case of thoracolumbarlevel spinal Schwannoma treated with total surgical resection, as well as to conduct a literature review on this subject.
