The Brazilian Journal of Neurosurgery – JBNc (ISSN print 0103-5118, ISSN online 2446-6786) is an online journal published by the Academia Brasileira de Neurocirurgia. The journal is fully open access, peer reviewed and accepts submissions written in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. Accepted contributions are published in a quarterly issue-based model with four issues per year, and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. JBNc does not charge submission or publication fees.
JBNc’s mission is to contribute to the development and progress of Neurosurgery and related sciences by publishing high quality research in the field and promoting knowledge exchange among its peers. The journal publishes original articles, reviews, case reports, short notes, and clinical images in the field of Neurosurgery including all sub-specialties. The journal’s target audiences are academics (professors, researchers, graduate students), neurosurgeons, and other health professionals.
Authors of published contributions retain full copyright to their work without restrictions, granting JBNc the right of first publication, while agreeing to release it under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. The CC BY 4.0 license grants permission to third parties to distribute, modify, adapt, and create derivative works based on the published material, even for commercial purposes, on the condition that proper attribution is given to the original published work, authors and journal.
Authors are allowed to enter into separate non-exclusive agreements for distribution of their article, such as publishing it in an institutional repository or as a book chapter, always making sure to properly acknowledge the initial publication in JBNc.

The Academia Brasileira de Neurocirurgia - ABNc was founded on October 18, 1974, and has as its patrons Professors Dr. José Ribe Portugal and Elyseu Paglioli, pioneers of Neurosurgery in Brazil.
ABNc mission is to:
I. To contribute to the development and progress of Neurosurgery and related sciences, as well as general interest topics, preferably linked to the profession, medical education, and research;
II. To present suggestions, request action, and collaborate with the competent official authorities, for the benefit of Public Health;
III. To respond to the inquiries of the constituted authorities;
IV. To sponsor and collaborate in the realization of scientific meetings of the specialty in the form of congresses, conferences, continuing education courses, etc.;
V. To promote interchange with the different Neurosurgery centers in Brazil and the world;
VI. To represent Brazil at foreign Neurosurgery organizations.
The ABNc recognizes the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies as the highest association body of World Neurosurgery, considering and respecting its criteria for legislation and organization.

Advertisements can vary in size from a quarter page to a full page, all located on internal pages. No cover or back cover advertisements are allowed. The placement of advertisements within each publication is at the discretion of the Executive Editor.
📑 Contract and approval process
The sponsorship plan is ratified in assemblies by the Brazilian Academy of Neurosurgery and implemented in JBNC. Sponsorship suggestions are proposed by ABNC members, and contracts are established based on the chosen sponsorship plan.
